Commercial Break: Target
This is actually one of my Mom’s favorite commercials. It tends to crack me up every time I see it too. Target has capitalized on what I think makes for a good series of commercials; an over the top character/spokesperson. The woman in the commercial gives an exaggerated example of how consumers prepare for the infamous Black Friday which is the the day following Thanksgiving Day and traditionally marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping season.
Good marketing begins with the ability to connect with the audience and this character does just that through comedy.
